CONSTRICTORBio: Frank Payne began his career as an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the lure of money and power drove him to crime. He donned a cybernetic suit equipped with prehensile, electrified metal coils and took on the moniker of Constrictor. The needed comic book covers are as follows: - Avengers: The Initiative Vol. 1 #5 – Original Art By: Jim Cheung & Justin Ponsor / Originally Published: October, 2007
- Story: Been awhile since I've seen the inside of a helicarrier. Still smells like a locker room full of motor oil, I see. Chalk that up as another reason I left S.H.I.E.L.D. and went into the mercenary biz.
[li] The Hood Vol. 1 #3 – Original Art By: Kyle Hotz / Originally Published: September, 2002[/li] - Story: I can see what you're thinking. “Traitor. Greedy bastard. I'm so much better than him.” Well, you wait and see. You're still green. You think being a hero's enough to keep you going.
[li] The Thing Vol. 2 #2 – Original Art By: Andrea DiVito / Originally Published: February, 2006[/li] - Story: S.H.I.E.L.D. runs on rookies like you. They'll send you to the worst places in the world, to fight things you can't imagine. Year after year, you'll bleed for them, all to defend people who'll never thank you.
[li] Iron Man Vol. 1 #127 – Original Art By: Bob Layton / Originally Published: October, 1979[/li] - Story: Then one day you'll limp home after fighting some costumed freak that killed half your squad, and you'll realize you can't pay rent, and your only friend is a bottle. Think you'll feel like a hero then?
[li] Incredible Hulk Vol. 1 #212 – Original Art By: Rich Buckler, Ernie Chan, & John Costanza / Originally Published: June, 1977[/li] - Story: You'll come to that point someday. When I got there, I chose money over duty. Self-respect over honor. And up until now, I haven't regretted it.
[li] Captain America Vol. 1 #228 – Original Art By: Ron Wilson & Dan Green / Originally Published: December, 1978[/li] - Story: Thing is, I've got money now. Hercules beat me half to death last time we tussled, so I sued him for excessive force. Nobody was more surprised than me when I won. And I won BIG.
[li] Captain America Vol. 1 #282 – Original Art By: Mike Zeck & John Beatty / Originally Published: June, 1983[/li] - Story: So now that I have all the money I could want, I'm finding it isn't enough. I want to do more. Maybe that's why I joined S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first place. Maybe that's why I'm back here now.
[li] Avengers Arena Vol. 1 #7 – Original Art By: Dave Johnson / Originally Published: April, 2013[/li] - Story: That's my advice to you, rook. Don't work for S.H.I.E.L.D. because of crap like honor, but because you want a better world. And remember you always have a choice. Even if you chose wrong the first time.
[/ul] Team-upsTeam-up bonuses are awarded when certain heroes are paired together in a battle. Some hero pairs get multiple team-up bonuses.
